Aftermarket Radio Wiring Harness Diagram

Aftermarket Radio Wiring Harness Diagram
The aftermarket car stereo wiring harness pictured above is also what you will use to plug into the factory audio plug that is left after you remove your factory radio. Before you plug it into the factory radio harness, you need to splice the color coded wires into the wires coming out of the harness
attached to the aftermarket car stereo you are going to install. If you are missing the harness coming out of the radio you want to install then read our post Where can I find the wiring harness for my aftermarket stereo?

I recommend using butt connectors for attaching the wires along with a set of crimpers. Avoid using electrical tape at all costs.

The harness pictured above will be a vehicle specific harness. To find out which one you need for your car visit Metra Online and use the vehicle fit guide to determine the correct harness to purchase. You will pay somewhere around twenty bucks for a harness with the wires pictured above in a retail car audio store.
